What Is Laser Cleaning?

Laser cleaning is an advanced, eco-friendly technology that uses focused laser beams to remove unwanted substances like rust, paint, and contaminants from various surfaces. This non-contact method ensures the underlying material remains undamaged, making it ideal for restoring everything from industrial equipment to delicate historical artifacts.

Contaminants We Remove

  • Rust
  • Paint
  • Oil and Grease
  • Oxidation
  • Adhesive Residues
  • Soot and Smoke Damage
  • Mold and Mildewa
  • Graffiti
  • Mineral Deposits
  • Rubber Marks

Surfaces We Clean

  • Steel and Stainless Steel
  • Aluminum
  • Copper and Brass
  • Concrete and Brick
  • Wood
  • Glass and Ceramics
  • Plastic and PVC
  • Painted Surfaces

Note: This is a selection of common contaminants and surfaces we handle. If you have specific cleaning needs or unique materials, feel free to contact us to discuss your requirements.

Serving numerous industries

Our laser cleaning technology is designed to handle the rigorous demands of factory shutdowns and turnarounds. By removing contaminants quickly and effectively, we help you reduce downtime, improve equipment performance, and comply with industry standards.

Historic Restoration

Historic buildings, structures, and artifacts require delicate cleaning methods to preserve their integrity. Laser cleaning is an excellent solution to prevent damage to the underlying surfaces.

Automotive

Laser cleaning can be applied for tasks such as paint removal, rust removal, and surface preparation in automotive restoration.

Construction

Laser cleaning can be employed remove dirt, paint, rust, and other contaminants from construction machinery and structures.

Aviation Restoration Applications

From paint stripping to corrosion control, our solutions contribute to the restoration, maintenance, and manufacturing of crucial aerospace components.

Manufacturing Cleaning Applications

From surface preparation to tool maintenance and injection mold cleaning, our solutions contribute to the cleanliness, efficiency, and longevity of critical manufacturing processes.

Fire Restoration

Our laser cleaning method offers a precise, non-abrasive solution that removes fire-related contaminants without harming the underlying material. Whether it’s brick, stone, wood, or metal, we restore the original beauty while preserving structural integrity.

Marine Restoration

From hull cleaning to rust removal, our solutions contribute to the restoration, maintenance, and manufacturing of crucial marine components.

Railroad

From track maintenance to locomotive cleaning, our solutions contribute to the efficiency and sustainability of railroad operations.

Agriculture and Farming

LaserAxe provides environmentally-friendly farming equipment cleaning solutions to remove contaminants from food processing and packaging equipment, such as grease, wax, proteins, seasonings, crumbs, glue and other build-up that prevents equipment from operating at peak efficiency.

Why laser cleaning?

Laser cleaning is a non-destructive method for the removal of thin residue layers from ferrous and non ferrous metals as well as other hard surfaces.

By utilising infrared light, our highly trained team of technicians can selectively remove rust and other coatings without damaging the substrate and without using abrasive media or chemicals, we have the largest variety of laser cleaning machines in Southern California, allowing us to cater to all suitable industries and applications.

HERE’S HOW IT WORKS:

When the laser beam is focused on the surface, it delivers a concentrated burst of energy. When the energy from the laser light interacts with contaminants that absorb its energy, two primary mechanisms occur. The contaminants or unwanted material will either vaporize and turn into a gas or the pressure of the interaction will cause particles to free from the surface. As the unwanted material vaporizes, we extract the particles from the surface, leaving it clean. The laser beam can be precisely controlled, allowing for selective cleaning of specific areas without affecting the surrounding material.

Laser ablation cleaning is used in various industries, such as manufacturing, conservation of artwork, and even in restoring historical artifacts. It offers advantages like non-contact cleaning, minimal damage to the underlying material, and the ability to clean intricate or delicate objects that would be difficult to clean by traditional methods.

Overall, laser ablation cleaning is a high-tech way of using laser energy to vaporize and remove unwanted material from surfaces, leaving them clean and undamaged.
